OHDSI Vocabularies – Oncology Version
Welcome to the download page of the OHDSI Standardized Vocabularies – Oncology Version. Please download the zip file and load it the usual way as described on the Vocabulary GitHub website. You can omit the CPT4 step. Then, use it in your ETL script and your analysis scripts as usual.
Please download the zip file from here.
Why is there a separate Vocabularies file for oncology?
This is a temporary situation. Currently, due to the resource constraints of the OHDSI Vocabulary Team, we cannot do the extensive work of developing and maintenance of the oncology vocabularies. This will change in future, and we will go back. But in order to make progress with the various studies the Oncology WG is planning we decided to fork the February 2025 version of the Standardized Vocabularies and implement all needed changes.
How does this version of the Vocabularies differ from the one in Athena?
It is largely identical. However, there are changes to the logic of how concepts relating to oncology are managed. You can find the details in the documentation of the mapping logic.
Please note: The zip file contains all public vocabularies. That is probably more than you need or that you would have downloaded from Athena. The extra vocabularies will not cause any problems, though, except for the size requirements and potential performance hit of the larger database tables.
If you have questions or run into trouble, please contact us at oncology@ohdsi.org. We will figure it out.
